Jeff Coltenback began his dog care career in the training arena in the mid 1990's. Along the way, he became fascinated with wolves and their likeness to the domestic dog. He later found wolves and dogs weren't just "alike", but learned both canines were practically replicas of each other physiologically and behaviorally. After learning more about wolf behavior and langauge, Jeff applied this knowledge to the domestic canines he worked with, trained and rehabilitated. It wasn't long before the question of health and nutrition arose. Realizing dogs had similar food requirements and the identical digestive system of the wolf, Jeff saw the need for a shop in his area to fill that void which was missing in northern New Jersey. Not one Pet shop around was truly all natural and holistic. A lot of shops carried natural products. But they also carried commercial foods,chemical flea and tick products and other harmful supplies for animals.
So, in September 2003, Jeff and his wife Diana founded Paradise Pet, Inc (www.paradisepet.net). Their mission was quite simple. They wanted to specialize in Dog, Cat and Bird products that were truly natural. They were not willing to compromise their values for the sake of a dollar. Their chief aim was very spiritual in nature. They wanted to treat people as they wanted to be treated. They wanted to help people help their pets. And they wanted to do it their way without influence from "big business". Six fiscal years later, they still maintain their values and have not deviated from their original purpose. In fact, they now care for animals even more naturally and more holistically.
There was one minor challenge to overcome. Jeff saw the state our pets' health was deteriorating on a national scale. How could he possibly reach so many people? After all, he is only a small business owner in the suburbs of New Jersey. But, his vision came to him. He asked himself; "How can I reach more people and help more pets?". It was then that this DVD was born. In April 2008, filiming began and the rest is history.
