Before we go into the fact that the term "holistic Food" is an oxymoron, let's discuss what holistic really means.
From American Heritage Dictionary: Of or relating to holism. (a) Emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts. (b) Concerned with wholes rather than analysis or separation into parts: holistic medicine; holistic ecology.
As you can see, holistic, in its very essence, is the approach of the whole of a body or thing, as opposed to individual parts. For example, holistic pet care, in my opinion, is the overall care for a pet. Environment, diet, exercise, training, grooming, leadership, etc. is a holistic approach to the promoting the health of a pet. Therefore, food cannot possibly be holistic. When you see "Holistic Food" just understand it is merely a marketing ploy. Sure, food plays a vital role in your pet's health. But, even feeding your pet the best possible food on Earth you can have a terribly unhealthy pet, if the other areas of that pet's life are not balanced. So, please consider your pets overall life when dealing with a symptom, problem or behavior.
